UNfavorite RPG series

I dislike the Final Fantasy Series believe it or not. I use to love it but it got BORING . There was always so much cliche. For example you always get's an airship after you gone all around the wide world chasing the antagonist of the game. And there is almost always a female heroine who is a decendant of an ancient civilization. And at some point the game the hero's home get's burned down or something. It's always dreadfully boring.

System Shock 2.-Yes it`s an RPG becuase it is about attributes. We can again begin our old "Is Diablo an RPG or not?" discussion.

Xen, SystemShock 2 is labeled an RPG by the masses of gamers, but it is in fact a standard FPS with RolePlaying elements much the same way Deus Ex is. If you judge SystemShock 2 by RPG standards then, no, it's not the best, but by FPS game standards it was revolutionary. It continues to surpass the substandard quality of games like Red Faction. While RF's GeoMod engine was intrigueing that was about the only interesting element of the game. I put Deus Ex and SystemShock on nearly equal levels as far as FPS's go.

Now, on to the actual topic. Most unfavorite RPG? While I agree that the FF games can become rather stagnant there are many worse games. Summoner being one of them. Though the FMV at the end of the final credits IS hillarious.(Something only PnP game players would truly appreciate)

Definetly, by far, the worst RPG creation ever. Even worse than Multi Used Dungeon 2, judging by today's standards. Those of you who know of MUD 1 & 2, respect!

Hmmm...out of the few RPGs that I've played, I'd have to say BG1...I'm only saying this because I played BG1 after beating BG2+TOB and was used to the high levels and +5 weapons. BG1 was too annoying for me..."Oh no, a kobold commando!!! RUN AWAY MINSC!!!" It's been a while since I played it though...I'm gonna reinstall it and give it another go...

My personal would be the Diablo series. Not necessarily because it's not fun, but because, thanks to my obsessive friend, I now know roughly everything about D2.

In terms of RPG element - Deus Ex. I'm sorry, but it wasn't an RPG. C'mon folks, you could do without any skills if you could shoot fast. [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I find the entire Baldur's Gate series to be a highly overrated tedious hack-n-slashfest. I cannot understand what people see in it. The only good game with that engine was Torment, since the designers actually came up with a good story and some roleplaying.

Except PS:T and Fallout series, IMO the rest are rather boring one way or the other.
