Where did Gentleman Jim go

I went to Ald'ruhn and retrieved the locket for the retired egg-miner. When I completed the quest, I went back to the bookstore in Vivec to get my reward from Gentleman Jim Stacey but when I entered the bookstore, he wasn't there. His friend was in the secret room, and he isn't very accomdating on information where Jim went. So, where did Gentleman Jim go?

It's probably a game glitch. Is your game fully patched? Also, I think you'll have to use the console to "cheat" him back. (note: Considering the circumstances it wouldn't really be cheating.)

Just loaded Bloodmoon, have loaded Tribunal also. Since both games have patches in them, I think the game is up to latest fixes. About the consul, I don't have a clue on how to use the consul, I don't know how to "put" Gentleman Jim in the bookstore. Any help would be appreciated.

First press tilde to open the console.

Then enter the following code; placeatpc stacey 1,1,1

And he should be back.

I had the same thing the other day. I cheated him back into the game, only to find out that i didn't really need him anymore.

After promoting you to grandmaster, Gentleman Jim disappears. that's normal. But if he disappears before doing that, it's a bug - and IIRC retrieving the Hlervu locket isn't the last mission you can get from him.

That's right, but I think the Bal Molagmer quests are optional, so if you finish all the normal quests before finishing the Bal M., he'll disappear the "normal" way.

That's what he did in my game, but he dissapeared before naming me Mastermind of the guild. That happened after i cheated him back. So i guess in a way it was useful to use that cheat.
