i love dungeon siege! i'm replaying it a second time now.

there's a wonderful camera mod that allows you to get full 360' rotation and angled from the ground level all the way up into the clouds.

like Brandon E's camera hack for NWN, it makes it a whole new game!

Tried the demo and it was great. I love the art and the music. If I wasn't so damn busy at school I'd buy the damn game.

Just started playing it. Not too happy with the map. Even the Megamap only shows parts of the map, I'd like to be able to see the ENTIRE map of the area. I'm passing a lot of areas by apparently, I have NO sense of direction at all Anyone know of any websites that might have good maps?

The game is one big area with no loading ever, so defining an area for mapping is kinda hard.

I agree about the automap being too small in scope, but like Luvian said it would be hard to show the whole map for some of these areas on one screen. If you want to make sure you don't miss any areas, then you'll have to resort to some rather thorough exploring, which usually includes doubling back frequently to fill in all the edges of the automap and catching anything that you might have missed.

However, there are some maps available online if you need them. As far as I know, these are scans of the maps printed in the Dungeon Siege Strategy Guide:

I played this awhile ago. It was okay. It seemed like more of a shooter than an RPG to me, though. I agree, the automap function does suck. My biggest problems in this game involved getting lost, both outside and in various underground areas.

There used to be a dungeon siege forum here. I still remember the time when I argued with some players on the forum about this game was good or not.
I've played this game for a while, but still, I think it is no match for Diablo II. In spite of the music, the boring controlling system and the bland battles are great hpynotic to me.
