Actually I did make it past once with all alive.
Spoiler.... . . . . . . . . . . . . I had my archer sit back and pop arrows of dispelling into my party members....sounds strange huh? The Death Gaze effects are dispelled with those arrows. I have tried Dispel Magic but that only works occasionally. After that I used my mages to kill off the Priests and left my big fighters to hack at The Nabassu. The preists are transformed into the Nabassu each time you kill him so taking them out Quickly is rather important. I left my Cleric/Druid to heal those characters who where getting low on points. Lotsa healing is a must. That's it. Piece of cake right...lol....ugh ------------------ ![]() [This message has been edited by Wulfere (edited 05-31-2001).] |

In my game, I have a single level 8 warrior drink different potions, like cloud giant strength and heroism, then hed him hasted/blessed/chanted, he then took SpiderBane, went down, killed all the cultists got deathgazed, came up, got dispelled, drank some more potions, switched to World's Edge, wnet down again and just chopped the demon, this time without death gazes.
I was always wondering is drinking potion of mirror eyes makes you immune to deathgaze, otherwise why sell it at the Inn? So try it. |

Ok - here is my way:
. Preparation: Scrolls of Dispel Magic for Wizard Wand of Monster Summoning (at least one) before entering area cast: Haste Invisibilty 10' Radius Enter the chamber Split party into 2 groups of 3 Mage in one group, other spellcaster in other. Put each groiup in opposite corners. When Aec'Le'Tec does paralyze only one group affected . Cast Summon Skeletons/Monster Summonings Shoot all the cultists down Aec'Le'Tec will be held back by monsters (top them up now and then) but you need to dispel his death gaze effects whe necessary . When cultists dead: SWARM him ------------------ In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is pimp |

Spoiler.....
. . . . . . . . . . . . . If you go in, do some damage and then run upstairs and rest you regain hit points and spells, but Aec'Latec gets nothing. It might be cheesy, but if you aren't high enough level to beat him without taking major casualties you might want to try it. |
