I discovered that with an acrobatics skill at above 95, I can jump into a corner, press backwards, and jump even further up. this is probably a glitch, and I do not know if they've fixed it in a patch, because I don't have internet on my dear Onur, but anyways, I found out that this should be a skill. I have chosen the path of stealth and so on, y'know marksmanship, light armor, short blades and acrobatics, but there is no such skill as climbing! I say there damn well should be, because a live thief is a well rounded thief, and a well rounded thief has to climb rooftops quite a bit(at least in vivec this is very useful, or when it comes to climbing fortresses
![]() question: should climbing not be a skill? Ps: I've climbed the fort in pelagiad, the moonmoth fort, and many other buildings in general, just by making good use of this glitch(if it is one, I mean, for all I know they could have made it like that on purpose, so that it is based on human skill and not pc skill..).

IMO. Well if you are talking about jumping, then the answer is no because that's already covered by the Acrobatics skill. Now if you are talking about using all fours, hands and feet, then hell why not. Only problem is, seems no NPC or you can do that in Morrowind. I think they should have sitting if not a skill. LOL chairs are in the game. It would be cool if your character can sit to rest and restore health, fatigue, and magicka.

hehe, yes I agree. only sucky thing bout it, is that thieves are slightly discapable of thieving when thay can't climb.
sure hope someone makes climbing available as a skill later on as Morrowind is developed. or at least in the sequel. but when are we supposed to get multiplayer mode??? this has annoyed me for a long time now. I want to play over the net! *WwWhHhHhhHHIiiiIIIIIIiiIiIiiNnNnnNnNnNNnEeEeeEEEE EeEEEe*

Well, there's the levitate spell. but I agree climbing could be a good skill to have.
The game will be very laggy if it were to be made into multiplayer. imagine what will happen during an ashstorm. in single player people can hardly move. in multiplayer it may crash the game. |

They must be running below the recommended specs, or with 4x AA and 8x Anistropic or something.
Besides, Morrowind is built on the same engine used in Dark Age of Camelot, which I find to actually be more detailed in some places, with a lot more stuff happening on-screen. That's all moot for now, however, as there won't be any more expansions for Morrowind. Maybe Elder Scrolls 4. |

The question is... would you climb the Kilimanjaro ?
![]() On a more serious note, wouldn't that be a good idea for a mod ?

IIRC, Climbing (ans also Swimming) were seperate skills in Daggerfall. There it was possible to climb walls.
I liked the more detailed Skill list /system in daggerfall much more than the list and system in Morrowins. But the rest of the gameplay has much improved. Chris |

good idea for a mod? what do you mean, someone edit the gamefiles themselves and make a patch or something? i mean for climbing ofcourse.
though as what i see in the latest of computer technology, morrowind will be reduced to requiring only a quarter of the ordinary home computer stat specs in only a matter of months now. as the latest cpu's from athlon produce about 20 % better than others from intel etc..? (not entirely sure about that last one, tho.. ![]() but is it possible to actually edit the game, and make the climbing possible? i spoke with a friend today, and we discussed how it could be possible to make it happen, and we reached the conclusion that if only surfaces were climb-able, it would be a matter of skill to be able to hold on to these different surfaces, and that maybe there would be different surfaces requiring better skill levels and so on and so forth. btw, there should also be a matter of different surfaces, depending on race or class, like kahijts would be able to climb trees more adequatly that humans etc. and, yes, I did mention the possibilities for it appearing in a sequel..;P
