My Samurai is at level 9 and has been dualing fine with his current weapons for many, many battles. He's using an Enchanted Katana and his default Wakizashi. For some reason, he stopped dualing. I mean, he swings once with his E. Katana and just stops. He won't swing with the Wakizashi anymore.

I tried swapping weapons and swapping back to his swords. I removed all his armor taking his AC down to 5. I even removed his Waki for some battles and then re-equipped it. None of these things helped.

Is there some mysterious property of the Hobbitt Samurai that prevents dualing between levels 9 and 10? |-(

Thanks,

The only thing I can think of is that you walk or run every round of combat and your samurai just gained his second attack with his primary weapon.

Carrying a lot of weight around will effect many things: the number of attacks/swings, initiative, AC, rate of stamina loss...
It will not stop you from using two weapons.

I'll try to explain what the effect is of walkin/running in a combat round for dual-wielders.

Two situations:

I: A dual-wielder with one attack with his primary weapon and one attack with his secondary weapon.
II: A dual-wielder with TWO attacks with his primary weapon and one attack with his secondary weapon.

Normally example I will attack twice when his turn comes up in the round. Example II will get three attacks in a normal round. But not distributed evenly. The first attack with a secondary weapon occurs together with the second attack of the primary weapon. He gets two "sets" of attacks. Early in the round 1 attack (primary weapon) and later in the round two attacks (both weapons).

What happens when moving in combat? All actions are suspended until the move is completed. After moving some actions may still be executed (if the party hasn't moved too far).

An attacking character does not make all his attacks after moving. Only his first set. This means that our first example gets both attacks (he just has one set of attacks). But our second example only gets his first attack. Just one attack with his primary weapon.

If you have a dual-wielding character with a different number of attacks for primary and secondary weapons try not to move in a round. It will cost you your secondary attacks!
