Allrighty, 6 hours into a game of moo3 on small cluster galaxy with 4 opposing races...and im finding it impossible to get anything done fast!

Lets say i want to produce shipX 10 times....guess what, if i tell it to do that, it wont gime the ships untill they are ALL done, which means i have to manually add a ship to the construction list every half a dozen turns.

My colony ships seem to mysteriously dissapear...lets say i send 5 ships to colonize a system with 5 planets, i usualy end up only colonizing 1 or 2 of the planets leaving me to ponder just where the other 3 ships went.

Task forces are a MAJOR pain in the arse, i cannot add troops to a task force that is already in space, i have to disband the force, and then remake it with the troops...and since they made disbanding a task force take a LONG time i can end up having to wait upwards of 20 turns just to get my ships outfitted and to the planet.

And the way that task forces use ruleS to be created is a major major pain, in Moo2 i always relied on using the biggest most powerful ship able to be created since they rarely were able to be killed in combat, with the task forces i HAVE to make other ships in order for it to let me make the armada.

Also, the method for transporting populations to other planets has a big flaw, i lost control of one of my colonies since i had a food shortage and they starved, so now since i have no control over the colony they dont seem to be geting the food thats available since the shortage stopped, which means the colony is slowly dieng out and ill be forced to recolonize it.

Colonization also seems to take an inordinately large amount of turns to accomplish, ive had a colony ship hover around a system for 2-3 turns before it decided to land.

Technology seems to take half of forever to get as well, im miles ahead of the computer AI tech wise, but im only up to tech 17 after 6hours of play. And it seems that warp technolgy is few and far between, it usualy takes 5 rounds just to get my ship from one colony right next door to another.

Production is also painful, the computer AI is always selecting stupid ships to produce. it usualy seems to choose the wrong design. for instance, it makes a bunch of troops transports....and im in desperate need of long range attack ships, or it will start marine production when im not at war with anything so have no need of troops.

Reports on what is happening in my empire need to have better sorting, i dont need to know that 30 planets produced some new building, but if i select turn off yellow messages i will miss out on important things that i need to know.

And the computer AI seems to be a joke, it took it almost 50 turns to get a SMALLforce to attack my planet, and my planet was completely defenseless....and i had plenty of time to build a defence while i was under planetary bombardment and so eventualy they were unable to attack me because of the defences i built. Where was their troops ships? Why was their bombardment so utterly ineffective (killing maybe 1 building and a few population a turn) this compared with moo2 where a bombardment was very very deadly.

Research seems to always be protested, 50% of the time it gets delayed because of protestors, which is absurd since my entire population registers as being content.

Combat is also a big pain, i never know where the enemy fleet is since i cant see the whole battle field. if i could pause and scroll around to find it, then it wouldnt be such a big deal but it seems as though it happens in real time, making it a lot better of an idea to simply tell the computer to fight since they know from the start where the enemy is.

There are technical difficulties as well, i had to install the game on my older computer since it didnt like my newer computers CD rom drive (a kenwood TRUE-X) it would have the shiny CD icon as my mouse pointer when i tried to start the game up, and simply stay that way till i got sick of waiting for it to do something and rebooted.

You owe me back a day of my life...

I got curious by your post, and decided to install my friend's MOO2. Well... I started playing at 4pm, and stoped playing at 6 pm the other day.

26 hours non-stop... I feel sick...
