I know it sounds REALLY basic. But I just got the game a bit ago, and I have this magic healing ring (yes i know you probabaly all had it, lol). I "equipped it using "R" but how do I actually use it?

Okay. Thanks. Only It didn't seem to do anything. I'll try again though.

Unless of course you'll find an item with constant effect. Then all you need to do is just wear it. With every other item it's like Kakero said.

It probably didn't do anything cuz of 3 reasons.

1. Youre at full health
2. The ring heals a small amount of health, sometimes you won't notice your health go up on the bar.
3. It doesn't have enough charge.

In case you want to bind a hotkey to that item, press F1 in game:
a box will appear with 9 empty squares in it - you can assign an item/spell to each and then recall it with a number (1-9)
Just click in the box and choose the suitable option:
Inventory menu item - allows you to choose an item from your inventory, which you will equip by pressing the corresponding number - useful for switching weapons
Spell menu item: allows you to pick a spell from the menu - either a true spell or the one from an object (the spell will be readied and the object equipped by pressing the key)
Delete quickKey item: self explanatory, frees one of the slots

If the ring doesn't have enough charges, try resting for 24 hrs. It's a lot cheaper than using a valuable soul gem to recharge.

No, no, not health - enchantment.

There are two ways to recharge enchanted items: resting or charged soul gems. Resting's a helluva lot cheapter.
