So, I managed to get into one of the Redoran treasury rooms in Vivec (yeey!) and everything was nice and dandy. Unfortunately, I share the room with a nasty guard whom is very good at fighting, and killing me... (i am a thief and cannot fight very good). So, I thought that all I need to do is to close the door to the room and by doing that shut out all of the other guards, leaving just me and that one guard in the room. By killing him I would be able to steal all that I want and drink an invisibility poition and run away from the other guards. Clever huh? Unfortunately, the one guard always manage to slaughter me brutally before I get a chance at even attacking him! What to do?

I really, really, really need those treasures!!!

/Kiyatha

Ps; How in gods name do I enchant an object? Haven't been able to figure that out yet. An pickpocketing really doesn't work, how much I try...

Have you completed the quest to "find bad people" and "provide a bloodbath"? You get a Ring of Surroundings (Chameleon 20-30). Also look for an Amulet of Shadows (Chameleon 80) - Try swimming for a lost ring near Gnissis. You can steal to your hearts contet! Just remember to hold the sneak button or somehow the guards "see" you.

Note, you don't need the items. The high chameleon and high sneak scores do just nicely.

That I haven't understood properly. Holding the sneak buttom that is. I just cannot find it. (I'm playing the pc-version, by the way)

Also, one door which I need to lockpick my way through is heavily guarded on both sides. How do I manage that? Will the cameleon amulette do?

Thanks for your help!!!

Once you managed to open the door, let it open for a while, and the guard inside will go for a little walk, eventually he'll leave the treasure room. In the meantime others may come in, but they will leave again. You just have to be patient and wait for the right moment. Once they're all out, close the door so they can't come in anymore. That doesn't mean that they can't see you once they stand in front of the door though, so loot carefully.

Yeah, I tried closing the door and that worked, so the room on the lower ground of the house is all looted. Unfortunately, the taste for sweets lies on my tongue, and the second room is heavily guarded and has a 90 lock on its door. Even if I somehow could open the damned door, the guards would be all over me if I tried. How should I go about?

I think you should come back there later, once you improved your skills. You should have plenty of goodies now, and if you should decide to sell, you're rich. Don't get TOO greedy now.

Of course if you REALLY MUST, go ahead and try, but you need at least a masters lockpick, and probably a probe as well. And of course you need to be of a certain level yourself. If it's too difficult for you now, you should try the other treasure vaults first. There's three great houses, and they all have treasure vaults, so take a look around, and see what suits you best.

You can find the key bindings under the options menu. To sneak just hold the sneak button while moving. If you are successful (depends on sneak skill), you will see a small yellow icon with a hand and a purse near your health/mana/fatigue bars. As long as that is on, you can take whatever you want (or sneak behind a particularly nasty enemy to backstab him with bonus damage)

just level up a fair few times by doing some smugglers caves or the like and get yourself a good weapon and you'll own almost any monster in the game in notime, remember its possible for a lvl 10 char to beat the endgame boss (its been done) more fun getting to level 60s like me and beating the poo out of anything in your way, but theres plenty of waysto beat all enemies, try getting levitate spell, then cast it and you cant be hit whilst you can fire arrows at your attacker, cheesy but works against all but cliffracers or magic users

i still havent gone into those treasure rooms yet, havent needed to, just come back to them a bit later in the game when your higher level and suddenly it will all seem to easy
