I just started this game and I have a few questions...
1) Following the other post's about Rattus- What should I do? Should I kill the Bank ppl or not? Is there any negative affects if I do? I've already gotten the stuff out of the Vault (went in the back way before I met Rattus), and I've gotten the personal vaults (you don't even need to talk to her, you can reach the button yourself ![]() 2) Do you have to be an Alchemist to combined portions? Or can you do it with other classes too? 3) Will there ever be a Gadgeteer NPC? Or am I holding onto all these gadget things for nothing? 4) How do you multi-class? What does it do? I know a little about how it works in the Baldur's Gate world, is Wizardry 8 any different? Thanks! hal |

1) Never did that, sorry, no idea.
2) Yes, I'm afraid that you need an Alchemist. 3) In Trynton there's a Trynnie RPC Gadgeteer. Trust me, a Gadgeteer is WORTH it, as is a Bard. 4) Never bothered to multi-class, seemed a bit too complicated for me. So I just stuck with normal single class characters ![]() |

Madras is actually my favorite NPC: I just find him amusing.
No real point in killing the bankers: you get WAY more exp. just wandering aroung the swamp. Safest way to access the safety deposit vault is to hand Lorrac any of the card keys. Oru |

There are not any negative effects of killing the bank people. The only things that go hostile are Lorrac and the bank guards. I have found some useful things on those guards, esp. some good low-level armor.
To multiclass, you have to change your class in the first level-up screen. But the danger of multiclassing is you become a level one in that class, but you still require the xp of whatever your composite level is to level up again. You keep your skills, but only increase ones from your new class. For instance, if you change from a lord to a fighter at level 18, your next level will need the same xp as a fighter would need to go from level 18 to 19.
