How long did it take for you guys to get a respectable warrior (if that was your game)??

I mean, whenever some dude in fancy armor (all weaker then steel armor) comes around, he beats the sh*t out of me. I get knocked to the floor constantly and I cant seem to get them down even once! I'm at lvl 9, have 51 in heavy armor skill, 62 in axe skill, I wield the Orcish Battle Axe (17-28 CHOP!), 47 in agility, 57 in strength, 44 in endurance, but it is all in vein. Even spellcasting doesnt work that great. This isnt fun anymore!

when you lvl up try to get endurance and stregth points into your character. those are the main attributes of any good fighter class. endurance bumps up your fatigue so you dont get knocked down and it raises the amount of life you gain per lvl. just go outside kill some stupid common monsters and gain up all you can on your abilities.

makes it easier (almost 2 easy) to take on other fighters. once you become lvl 20 you can take out almost anyone. hell im at lvl 47 right now my char gets hit he justs laughs back.

There are two ways to get knocked down in this game:

1) Run out of fatigue during a fight and pass out.
2) Get hit by a strong blow and get knocked off your feet.

The first one can be avoided by carrying a lot of restore fatigue potions with you everywhere you go and drink them during combat when your fatigue gets too low.

The second is dependant on your armor type and agility. To stay on your feet where lighter armor and have a high agility.

Honestly I don't know how to aviod that but I have been knocked down when I was at lower levels (less than level 20). Now that I am at level 31, none of my opponents can stay alive for more than 40 seconds. *sigh* combat is sooooo boring when you are too powerful.

God, I knew it, i have to restart the game and distribute my major and minor skill more effectively. I put them so that I'm a fighter/mage/thief, but I end up with a lame loser whos still at lvl 9 after A lot a recon/fighting/walking/quests. DAMN!

I'm considering installing Dungeon Siege now or wait for NWN

Ah, well, I see your problem. You are too weak to knock the opponents down and too clumsy to keep from being knocked down.

Agility to stay upright and to hit. Strength to carry, knock-down and do damage.

ALSO, it seems that your fatigue level and total encumbrance to max encumbrance rating might play a part in knock downs. I don't get knocked down as much when I'm less encumbered, but that may be just random chance.

I recommend getting a crossbow and going Cliff Racer hunting until you gain at least THREE levels in Agility. I also recommend that you wear a LIGHT ARMOR curiass (or even a whole suit) until you gain at least two levels in LIGHT ARMOR while you're Cliff Racer hunting.

However, you could go back to Seyda Neen and Mud Crab hunt. Then you'd switch from Curiass to Greaves & Boots for light armor. Also, work on ALL other agility skills.

I know a quick and easy way of getting skills up. I'm level 9 and have 90 long blade, and i got it easy. Go to a room with a really hard guy for u, and a door easy to escape. Go in hit the guy until u are almost dead, get out and sleep. Do this over and over. It may get annoying, but i gained about 10 in every skill off an orc with orc armor in the foreign quarter underworks in vivec.

It's good for cool items, too!
