need help fighting dracuis (the dragon)

having problems fighting dracuis i have the game set for hard and dont want to turn it down for this battle but it seems nothing hurts dracuis once he has turned into a dragon. any tips or stragities for this battle word be nice thanks

also has anyone had a problem with TOB just closing all of a sudden im running windows xp and once in a while the game just closes its starting to happen more and more and it gets frustrating. thanks for the help

First of all, You're welcome SoulKiller..

I had the same problem too but you can knock him in 2 or 3 rounds. First lay lots of spike traps in his path. Then use wand of cloudkill on Draconis's area (human form) while he cant see you. Cloudkill has a wide area effect so if even dialogue does not start still you can damage him. After some minutes, he'll shapeshift to a dragon and he will walk on you (stay at South East of the map) He will be damaged by your traps (60-70 each) and then CAST TIME STOP! Cast LOWER RESISTANCE in a SPELL TRIGGER , and then 3 ABI DALZIM HORID WILTING and one more cloudkill, well..he's done..

trap trick is useful for anyone

Lot's of people in this forum have had the same problem with windows xp. Try to search this topic.

You may have some problems with WinXP if you've installed it on top of an existing installation of BG2 and ToB. WinXP is not supported by Bioware. I haven't had problems, but I've got a P4 1.5Ghz with 512k RAM. If you have minimal specs you may run into problems. You may want to switch off some of the graphics and sound options in your Config screen.

I used a spell triger/sequencer with 3 Lower resistance,Time stop followed by improved Alacrity.
Then unleash all of your damaging spells.
Tough Dragon BTW yes?

Summon a Planetar/Deva, and let it cast Globe of Blades. Lets it kill Draconis Human form, to save your tanks. You can be out of their line of sight til Draconis turns dragon. When he does, make sure to have a True Sight up and running.
Then, cast Time Stop.
Would you have the Robe of Vecna, then cast Improved Alacrity, followed by a bunch of lower resistances/breach/pierce magic. After that, as many Abi Dalzims Horrd Wiltin as possible! have you got a Chain contegnecy with 3 Abi Dalzim, that also helps.
Have you not Robe of Vecna, store three Lower Resistance in a Spell Trigger, and throw it on him when you have stoped the time. Then one more, followed by pirece magic and breach.
Begin the Abi Dalzim, and when time starts running, send your tanks in to bash. GW and more abi dalzim to get him down.

This work on every dragon, but Draconis is harder (harder than his father even, unless you have the improved verion of him), since he becomes invisible, meaning you can't target him with lower res.
