These are the last posts for the characters from the previous thread:
Morguerat The battered an| dejected man, who had been busying himself with helping in the repairs smiled softly, "Thank you, Bartleby, I am searching for a starting place, I suppose you could say, I have been having small visions, flashes of insight, I suppose it is Helm trying to steer me onto the path to salvation, I've seen moonlight scattered by trees, a winding creek, that looks like the one passing by this Inn from the rooftop, and then last night i saw purple eyes and a pawprint, it looked like the mark of a dog, except for some subtle differences from my own hounds, I'm no ranger, but I'd be almost willing to bet they were the marks of a wolf. I... I fear I do not know what the rest of my dreams are, or if they are all the fevered imaginings of a hope that refuses to die as it should, I had taken the creek as a sign I was not mad, but ag |

This is the fifth installment of the Tavern by the Creek thread.
All are welcome to join by writing themselves into the story. But it would be helpful to read at least some of the previous threads to catch up on the details of the plot. Please feel free to PM TAOwolf with any questions about joining the adventure. Feel free, as well, to simply stay at the tavern or to use it as a starting place for your own adventures in the area. Just treat the tavern staff with respect, they’ve been through a lot. ![]() Our story so far: The First Thread: Read it

Welcome Skye and Elif!
We’ll bC incorporating the Steeplewood and Gloomwood forest areas from the Darkclouds thread into our game here. The Darkclouds story can be found here. When last we left your characters, they were preparing a strategy to deal with a group of will-o-wisps near an abandoned mage’s tower in the Gloomwood. Let’s pick up there. |

ooc: OK - looks like we're back in business!
Skye and Elif - As noted above, we'll pick up near the abandoned mage's tower. Once the tower is secured, you can use it as a home base. We'll also assume that Addison, Ni Deng and Jen will be able to safely remain there -- thus keeping these characters safe and nearby should any of the players wish to rejoin the adventure. Also, once you finish with the tower, we'll touch base with TAO about how best to include your characters in the main storyline. |

ooc- okie dokie Cyril. I think we were ready for the will-o-whips, and were waiting for the DM to post. I'll wait for Elif to voice his opinion tho first.
wait, double-checked last thread. I had a question that hadn't been answered, I'll repost it. ^^ "ooc- even if i use my harp and they flee, when we come back will we have to fight them anyways? if that's the case id much rather save my harp for another time and get the fight over and done with " |

She turns troubled eyes upon Cyril's face, and for a brief moment her face looks confused... but for only a brief moment.... She shakes her head, and pulls her hand from the fire, laying it upon his knee, and smiles softly before whispering...
"I must truthfully say I did not know what you were talking about, until it hit me....." She frowns again, staring into the fire..."My mind seems......seems ... clouded sometimes.....but...... yes, yes I must send a reply to the old man and let him know our whereabouts and that we know the Fay're are loose...." She places a hand upon his face, and smiles gently, "You have to meet him, this friend of mine,...... you are alot alike in some ways....".... Her face hardens, and she shoves her hand back into the fire, watching the flames turn to silver as they dance across her palm... "As for this "wind", ........" Her eyes cloud again for a brief moment, then return to their normal purple/silver hue, and she looks directly at him... "I fear if we do not get to the Fay're before this wind does,.......we may not have a chance at all........but I do know that the key lies in how our fates are entwined....." She winces and holds her other hand to her stomach, closing her eyes..... |

Fire. Its heat and its vigor are hers. It s passion and its spontaneity; it’s warmth and its consuming urgency, these are hers as well. Still he is surprised by the warm clasp of her hand upon his knee – a warmth which stops short of burning intensity despite its time within the flames. He places his own hand, a hand whose burns have but recently healed, upon it as she speaks. There is a storminess within the purple of her eyes as if the aspect of thunderheads has taken residence within them and as she speaks there is little he can do save what he has always done, and so he turn his face fully into the storm indicated within her troubled eyes.
Storm. For all its violent danger it is free with a freedom he knows. This at least is familiar, whatever else may lie behind it and his eyes flash in response to and recognition of the storm within hers. She places one hand upon the place wherein the child grows even as the other is thrust into the flames. Reaching around her he places one of his own hands upon that one of hers which rests over the child. With his other hand, he reaches into the stinging flames to interlace his fingers with hers. He winces at the burning heat as he draws her hand from the flames. “Then we shall go to this old man of yours,” he says softly. He falls silent, then, simply content to hold her a moment. Breathing deeply, he touches the cloud shaped clasp upon her cloak, the clasp he has given her. “You must keep your thoughts shielded from the Devourer, then, so that he may not easily find this Fay’re,” and tightening his grasp upon her hand he adds, “nor strike at the child within you.” He smiles then, a strangely relaxed smile. “But enough of such grimness. For where life finds breath, life finds hope and the breathing between us is strong.” Falling silent once more he presses his lips gently against the runic mark upon her forehead. |

OOC>>>Cyril! What a nice synopsis post you made up there! That little review complete with links must have taken you a great while to setup. Wow...I wish I could have one like that for LoF. Anyway, I am ready whenever you and Tao want Rymoth to enter the melee. Note...I would like to have a minor part, not so stressful at the moment, in order to get into the position well. If my stats need adjusting to survive in this crazy world, then let me know what you suggest. I am at your service. Place me where you need me, when you need me.
