I have nearly finished power gaming my solo f/m/t (x-cap removed and he is unbelievably powerful) but I want to run an evil party for the first time and enjoy the banter.
I rekon 4 people Edwin - mage Viconia - cleric Korgan - tank pc - ?? Any suggestions of a pc to go with them? I need some kind of thief skill (I don't really want to include Jan - doesn't appeal) so I thought:- assassin/mage (what is the best level to dual at)? gnome illusionist/thief? bard??? (not too keen) Any thoughts |

Personally I think that you would need: as you say thief skills; but also another fighter. This can be done via: Multi classing, which could be good, but leveling up will be slow; or Dual Classing, starting as a fighter so that you get the hp and THAC0, then swap to thief, because he will level up really fast!

I agree with Barlik,
A dual fighter/thief kicks ass dual immediately at the beginning and you'll have your fighting skills back at the start of chapter 2. with a fighter/thief you can put 5 proficiency slots to your favorite backstabbing weapon. if you still have need fo another tank try Anomen and turn him to chaotic neutral.

I'd use Viconia as a 2nd tank and make your character a half-elven Thief/Mage. Being a half-orc Fighter/Thief would rock, too. (If you want to play a half-orc and romance Viconia, get the patch from Baldurdash's new mirror site. It fixes several other bugs, too.)
Remember that if you have ToB multi-class is more powerful than dual-class; if you don't have ToB, dual-class is more powerful. -- Nifft |
