SMALL SPOILER
- - - - - Well im playing online with a friend (with ToB installed) and ive noticed that if you press TAB when you´re near that statue that talks, a little spot appears in it. If you detect traps, it has one, but the tricky thing is that i cant niether disarm it or pick whatever is there, because the cursor always stays in "talk" mode, even if i put it in that spot. Does anyone know what could i do ?? thanks

I've noticed this too.
But I dont think there is something to take there, it probably just is the 'chamber' that sends out spells on you if you fail to complete the rituals. This is just pure guessing, though. -Mortaug,

the hole is the spot on the statue where the item it gives u is stored, and the trap is the flamestrike that you get hit with if u answer wrong.

quote: Might seem to be the obvious answer, but that is incorrect. It contains a diamond. ![]() To get it, first, get your Thief to Detect Traps. When the trap has been detected, move your party out of sight until the fog of war covers the statue. The trap will still be visible through the fog of war, get your Thief to disarm it. You can select the trap now, because the statue is covered by the fog of war. To retrieve the diamond, just retreat your Thief after disarming the trap and wait for the fog of war to cover the statue again. You can now select the container. There you go, QED. ![]() |

Dammit! Dundee got it first.....
But I'll continue to read the BG1 forum first anyway. Oh well..... Someone Emailed this little trick into the GameBanshee walkthrough, but the information got garbled somewhere down the line: GameBanshee says the hint is for a statue outside the Pimlico Estate in the Temple District. Whoooops!
