I just randomly thought of this:
The movie 'Highlander' and BG2 has alot in common. You know, both fight to become some sort of powerful god, 'There can be only one' and all that stuff. And they must kill other spawns to become the god.
Though the characters in BG2 can die on other ways then getting their hed cut off...
Is this just me, or do they actually have alot in common?

see ya!

Yep, the Baldur's Gate saga and Highlander have a lot in common. I've seen threads detailing this on other boards, I've seen a thread comparing BG with Star Trek (or was it Star Wars? Can't remember) and at one time I've even thought about pointing out all the resemblances between characters from BG with characters from Dragonball/DBZ. Didn't go through with it though, because I thought it would be a bit silly.

The fact that in the end only one Bhaalspawn ascends to godhood and that there is constant strife between the Spawn is a BIG similarity indeed. However I think that this is the end of the similarities between the two series.
Unless of course you count the swordplay as well!!!!
Dragonball?????WHERE???

GREAT POINT,
One song that would go great to the BG:

O Here we are.Born to be kings.
We're the princes of the universe.
Here we belong.Fighting to survive.
In a world with the darkest powers.
And here we are. We're the princes of the universe.
Here we belong.Fighting for survival.
We've come to be the rulers of your world.
I am immortal.I have inside me blood of kings.
I have no rival. No man can be my equal.
Take me to the future of your world.
Born to be kings.Princes of the universe.
Fighting and free.Got your world in my hand.
I'm here for your love and I'll make my stand.
We were born to be princes of the universe.
No man could understand. My power is in my own hand.
Ooh.Ooh.Ooh.Ooh.People talk about you.
People say you've had your day.
I'm a man that will go far.
Fly the moon and reach for the stars.
With my sword and head held high.
Got to pass the test first time - yeah.
I know that people talk about me I hear it every day.
But I can prove you wrong cos I'm right first time.
Yeah.Yeah.Alright.Watch this man fly.
Bring on the girls.
Here we are.Born to be kings. We're the princes of
the universe. Here we belong.Born to be kings.
Princes of the universe.Fighting and free.
Got the world in my hands.I'm here for your love.
And I'll make my stand.
We were born to be princes of the universe.
ne thing that is in the

Perhaps 'Here we are - born to kill things' would be more appropriate.

Try comparing Sarevok to Vegeta, Imoen to Buruma, Minsc & Boo to Tenshinhan & Chiaozu, Tazok to Nappa, Melisan to Seru, Khalid & Jaheira to Kuririn & #18, Gorion to Grandpa Gohan. There are a lot of matches.

Alright, some of these are a bit far-fetched, but there are some similarities in each matching pair.
