Anybody knows useful armors for bards? Where I can find an elven chain? -or is it better to use bracelets??-

You'll allways have the bracers of AC 3 , but chains are better, since they give you bonusses against some weapons.

You can aquire (spelling that is impossible for a non-native)
elven chain early on in the game :

Do the trademeet quests, when the druid-quest is done
(do NOT poison their grove), there'll be some things happening, and you'll be approached by the two leading noble families there.

It doesnt matter with what family you side, as long as you side with one of them, eventually you'll kill the noble-woman, she has the elven chain.

Other bard chains:
-Melodic chains +3 (astral prison, haer'dalis quest)
-jester's chain +4 (asylum lvl 2, for 20 mithril tokens)
And offcourse the chain of chains for bards:
-Bladesinger chain +4 (Suldanesselar, loot from the big birdie)

Have fun

The green elven chain comes from the guy in trademeet; at least it did in my game. He will be there in the house with the lady however so it can be confused. I tried working my way around getting the chain. Can't steal it for sure since he's wearing it. I suggest ya don't kill him UNTIL you finish the quest one of them sets you out on. Let that quest follow thru and then you will have your time to whack em all dead.

IIRC, Bards can wear this, but will not be able to cast spells or use thieving skills. Better to go with either the melodic chain or the bladesinger chain.

The melodic chain will be the best you can get early. It's tailor made for bards. You may want to give the Bladesinger chain to a fighter/thief or a mage/thief you have.

That always annoyed me. Chain Mail made specifically for one sub-class that was practically useless for the sub-class in question. I suppose you could take it off each time you want to cast, but frankly that isn't very realistic. I always use Elven chain and then Bladesinger for my bard as I quite like the ability to fight and cast spells.

I used Melodic Chain for the longest time, until...

I got Bladesinger, but even after that I didn't use Bladesinger until I got to TOB and upgraded it. Once it's upgraded, it's the best Chain Mail you can find.

May be a new thing a patch has added. Have to see if it's Drow Chain or just Elven Chain, though I think it may be Drow Chain which will disintegrate.
