Monks are an excellent class. They aren't so good at first, but at higher levels they get low armor class and thac0. They're special abilties are nice too. Like to stun or kill people instantly? I bet you would, wait until you get greater whirlwind, and you'll be nearly unstoppable. (By an enemy with okay saves that is.)

Is there any class you can play through BG/TotSC that you can import into SoA as a monk?

Uh, what?

Anyway, Monks are one of the best classes in the game. Huge magic resistance, Best weapon (1d20. ), cheap as heck to run, run fast, immune to most stat ailments, Thief abilities... lol, Lay On Hands for self too. Really, the ultimate solo character.

Monks are very hard to play at the start of the game but by the end they are one of the most powerful classes out there (I killed the Silver Dragon in 1 punch with the quivering palm ability.)
