It is best to take his fake hart and bring it to the king because you get more exp. Then you can attack the prince when you are done then you get the blade for the best halberd.

Aha! LS grabs T'Lin and pulls him into the open to say WELCOME to Ironworks
. Actually you can get the halberd part if you kill or pickpocket the prince. However, helping the King gives you the Gauntlets of Crushing which are otherwise unavailable . I killed the king for the EXP, then I killed the Rebel Prince. The city was a ghost town when I left if.
