A little help please

I am looking for just a little help so please do not spoil me.

Here's my dilema. While in Trademeet I accepted the Mayor's quest but elected not to take Cernd (sp?). Subsequently, I have gone to the Druid Grove, have killed some Trolls, a few Driuds, but cannot find the Druid leader nor can I get to the North half of the Map. I am assuming that either I need Cernd to complete this quest or I need to look harder for passage to the North half of the map. So, my question is this: Do I need Cernd?

No, you do not need Cernd and the roads to the north side of the map is a real PAIN!! They are in "s" and "z" shape.

On another note, any specific reason behind your user name? A Honda fan? Something deeper perhaps?

No, just another usual Honda fan and have been associated with several Accords in my past 10 years.

The path to the North of the map is right next to the second bunch of shadow druids you come accross(looks like a big flat rock but is in fact the path).
