More info. please. Who's Vithal? That's not the person related to the story that the Duergar in the South of the Underdark tells you about, is it?

OK. When you go to the duerger camp and talk to the guys there they tell you about a mage (Vithal) that is trapped or imprisonned to the north. I think you need a Freedom scroll to release him. Does that help? I can't find him, but then again I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

I had bother with this bit too but I know what you're talking about now. You need the Freedom scroll and I stood a small way up screen from the Duergar in the lower part of the map. Cast the spell and he should then appear. This took me two attempts btw and many posts such as yours prior to success. I hope this helps Sweetheart. Reeka,
You can buy a Freedom scoll from one of the Duergar in the encampment. With Freedom, you only have to be in the general vicinity of an imprisoned person in order to free them. Cast the scroll as Charlie suggests and he should appear in the area that is kind of the intersection of the paths that lead to the Elemental Gates. Hope that helps!
