Well, I just made it to Chapter 7 with my wonderful group... of 2.
Aerie- a whining !@#$% that I had to spend 90% of the time defending. BUt she IS a multi-classed Mage-Cleric, healer and Caster.
Smartnot- a Half-Orc Kensai with a LUST for blood. Give him some nice long swords and improved haste and he soloed Firkraag at lvl 16. Only got hit once. (aerie was knocked out right after she finished casting) (if it makes you feel better, I killed her right before the final battle... I hate that whining bitch)

Is there some way to get around the INSANE amounts of things you CANT get simply because you don't have a good theif in the party?? ? Traps that you can't walk AROUND, Places you CANT LOOT!!!!

Whats the best class to solo? ? I've done it with 6, 4, and 2... I think I'm ready for the insanity called soloing....

By the way... I missed the Crom Faeyr at some point... where is that blasted thing at?? I'm playin the game on multiplayer with a buddy.. and Anoman sure could use it.

Heya BB,

Suppose with "Places you CANT LOOT!!!!" you mean places locked?
If so, have you tried attacking them? i.e. select a weapon and just attack the lock; works quite a number of times though I admit it's not foolproof or a 100% guarantee.

As for that Crom Faeyr look at the posting a little lower on the page. The location was given there.

And as to what the best class is to take for soloing, that's up to yourself; meaning it just depends on who you ask what answer you get.
Everyone got his own favorite as you can tell by looking at the mage vs cleric discussion raging on this same forum

You could try a pair with one character a swashbuckler dualled to either a mage or cleric! That worked like gangbusters for a friend and I.

As for Crom Faeyr (spoiler below)

In order to get Crom Faeyr, you need the hammer of thunderbolts, one of the girdles of giant strength (forget exactly which one), the gauntlets of ogre power AND a specific scroll that describes how to construct the item. Once you have all four items, Cromwell will be able to build it - but you lose all of the items in the construction. I would have to check my notes as to exactly where all of these 4 items are.
