Ok, I'm trying to organize a party for my game, and I figured out that I want these people in it.
Jah Minsc Keldorn Yoshimo Anomen Which leaves one slot for me, a mage. Except that I always play a mage and I'm kind of sick of it. My question is, are there many side quests for Keldorn? My main reason for taking him is for possible side quests (I've never played with him before), and for his interaction with Anomen. Or should I just bite the bullet and be a mage one more time? No spoilers please, I've only gotten as far as like chapter 2 or 3 (I'm a chronic restarter). Thanks.

Aerie and Jan both make effective mages: not the best, but they're reasonably decent. The upside is that Aerie is also a fine cleric (she can actually use trigger spells to chain clerical and mage spells together), while Jan is probably the best thief in the game.
Or you could try and add Edwin into your party. If you keep your reputation from getting high enough or low enough to cause griping, everybody should in harmony. At least, that's the theory. ![]() |

Yes, Keldorn has a fairly good quest dealing with his family.

Hi StarVid,
Keldorn is great! He has wonderful interactions with Jan & Anomen. He's very useful if you have Minsc in your party. He's also got a limited but deceptively powerful magical arsenal: his double-strength Dispel Magic trumps most dweomers. You ought to know that it's possible to retreive Imoen without any mages. Than means you could play an Archer, a Druid, a Cleric (though of course drop Anomen), or some kind of a rogue (Bard or Thief). Aerie has interactions with Keldorn that are interesting, so you could replace Anomen with her. That swap just depends on whose whining you prefer --- personally, I prefer Aerie's whining to Anomen's. Are you playing as a male or a female? If female, you can ditch Jaheira --- she's great, but somewhat redundant with Anomen. Unless you're keeping him for the interaction, you can easily drop Minsc. He's muscle, and you've already got three tanks (Jah, Keld and Anom). Any ditching will make room for Nalia, Edwin or Haer'Dalis. (If you decide to take Edwin, know that he's not very compatible with Minsc.) Nalia is formitable as a mage, no matter how lame her thieving skills are. Edwin everyone knows about: he's the best mage in the game. The Birdman (H'D) is a decent support mage, decent fighter (though IMHO he's best with a missile weapon, far away from the melee) and has a good pick-pocket skill, which will be valuable if Imoen is going to be your only other thief. On a different tack, have you ever played a Sorcerer? It might be fun to see how to handle a party with a sorcerer but no back-up mage (until you get Imoen back). Anyway, I hope you keep us all updated on your party's progress. That may help keep you playing to the finish ![]() -- Nifft |

Id say get rid of yoshimo for Jan (but swap back later)..great interaction with Minsc, keldorn & anomen..maybe swap jaheria for aerie so you have more spellcasters..and you play whatever you like!

uestsDrop Yoshgimo, Minsk,Keldorn and Anomen! If you are looking for side quests you shold take Ed, Jah and probably Korgan. Nalia is good too. Jaheira is VERY important-kill the Harper's mage in the Dock and you will have wonderfull ring for your Mage! Ah, and if yoy are really patient with her, there will be another q. for you
Probably the best tactics for the game(BGII) is to have every character in the party for a time, just to meet as many q. as possibly. |
