Starcraft any good?

Blizzard Entertainment is one of my favorite companies. Ever since my birthday I got a hoard of cash 30 DOLLARS (May not seem like much but to me tis a lot)

Now with my new found cash I am going to spend it on a game. But what to buy? I am thinking starcraft. Many of my friends says it's incredible. Is it just like WarCraft 3? After that I'm going to buy Elder of Scrolls in time.

yes it's good. it's been many years now but tons of people still play this game. it's similar to warcraft or RA2 ( red alert 2 ) but unlike RA2 there's limit of how many troops you can have like warcraft 3.

It's been out for a while now so it's very cheap. This is IMO one of the best games I've ever played. It's fun to stragize, watch the story unfold, and enjoy the great tunes.

Also when you're done with single player, go to battle.net. Even thought it's been around for so long, it still ahs a pretty strong multiplayer community.

Sythe Starcraft is more like WC2 than 3. But still rocks. Three races each with their own actual advantages and disadvantages. Unlike WC and WC2 where orcs and humans were basically clones with a different coat of paint for each.

I still play starcraft and it is one of the more often used games at lan parties [img]smile.gif[/img] (that and Counter-Strike)

Starcraft is probably one of the best RTS'es out there. The reason is gameplay.

Somehow they managed to strike about the right balance where each of the factions are equally powerful, while still being very different. Each requires a fundamentally different set of tactics.

Even within one faction there is not one "beaten path" as to how to play it. There are many different strategies, each with their virtues.

Simply the best. When applyed with Brood Wars it is the best strategy ever. It has great balance, surprisingly great story, great multiplayer, great units, three great DIFFERENT races, great community... It came out in 1998, and it is still among the top ten games sold!!!
Best Buy, for anyone.

The above posters have said it all, if you like RTS then Starcraft is a must. Despite it's age it's a game I pick up and play anytime. Simply a great game.
