Hello. I was wandering if anyone could tip me of about what sort of char I should use when im going solo. I tried the Assassin but it didnt work so good. I really love Thiefs but i dont think i really got the assassin part. I wanna go with one of these Classes: Monk, Thief(any thief class), Mage(single, dual..), or perhaps a Bard. Please Help me out =)

Monks and Sorcerer/Mages are the easiest to solo with, excluding dualclassed and multiclassed options.

If you want a decent but not undoable challenge, and assuming that you have ToB installed, solo with a Blade.

I totally agree. A sorcerer is much more powerful than a mage because you can cast the same spell like "fireball" as an example, a lot. Though the mage can have more spells available.
Otherwise you can choose a monk. The monks have magic resistance, fast movement and some thief abilities.
I want to point out that Blades are also very good; from the Bard group. They have offensive spin and defensive stance.

Or you might be better off with a good Thief->Mage. Get some good Move Silently and Disarm Traps scores, then Dual to Mage. You'll be backstabbing folks under Improved Invisibility before you know it. You could Multiclass a Thief/Mage as well, but your hitpoints are really gonna suck. (The upside of going Multiclass is that if you have ToB, you'll get the Special Abilities of BOTH classes.)

I don't suppose you're willing to try the Archer?
Beserker dualled to cleric is also a good bet.

But indeed, monks, sorcerers and dual/multiclassed magi are also extremey effective.
Try the swashbuckler if you're giving thieves another try

You can and it ROCKS! However Assassins don't get a whole lot of points to push around, so you'll need to be quite high level to have thieving abilities worth much at all. You might want to try a Bounty Hunter or Swashbuckler dual instead.

I tried to solo with a sorcerer, but didn't get too far because of traps. Is there any way for a sorcerer to find and disarm traps?

You can find them and disarm them the same way. Step on them. There are several ways to defeat them. Mirror Image (area of effect), Stoneskin (physical damage), Protection from Petrification (self-explanatory). I can't think of the others right now.

Duh..I just had to use Vampiric Touch to temporarily boost my hit points up high enough to survive some of the insane traps.

Wait....you mean you CAN'T play as a normal Thief, and then choose the Assassin kit right before you Dual? Damn.....I knew that was too good to be true.....
