Has anyone noticed the decrease in actully hard RPGs what happened to games like final fantasy and crono trigger?? Those games took weeks even months to beat. Im worried about the state of RPGs.

It's the same problem with all PC games. Publishers put lots of money into "supercool future technology newly developed" 3D graphics and then patch it up with a lame and too short story immediately planning the "even greater looking sequel"
In the last years original new game ideas have become rare and classic genres have become easier to appear to a broader market.
Yet I do not fear for RPGs because they still have a strong fan base and are actually quite popular.
Alas I fear we have lost the classic point&click adventure. I still play Zak or Monkey1 in my free-time and enjoy it. Those were the days! But it all went downhill from Full Throttle which had a cool theme and a nice story but was the first adventure ever I was able to finish in less than a day!
Sometimes there seemed to be still hope when newcomers like the excellent "Broken Sword" arrived but I think one year from now the classic adventure will be buried.

Chrono Trigger..this game is similiar to shining force and phantasy star? I'm a Rpg fan and I played many rpg games such as baldur's gate, eye of the beholder, icewind dale, fallout, m&m but I enjoy sega rpg games too! Phantasy star is my favourite. Specially the team interaction and dialogues) well whatever do you recommmend chrono trigger? In web, there's 2 chrono trigger, first one is 3 mb the other one is 260-300 mb. what's up?

Zoltan, I'll pardon your ignorance. The Chrono games are nothing like the Pantasy Star games. In chronological order it's ChronoTrigger (SNES), ChronoCross (PSX), and ChronoBreak of which I've only heard vague rumors, (most likely PS2). Each has a completely seperate storyline much like the FF games. However the storylines are branching with many many endings. I think ChronoCross has 50+ different conclusions.
