I made a potion that fortifies and restores strength. However it also drains luck. Now if I had added an ingredient (or two?) that restores or fortifies luck to that potion, would that cancel out the negative affect to luck?

Also does my alchemy skill have an impact on how powerful my potion is? I know the quality and quantity of apparati does, but does my alchemy skill only determine whether I'm successful or not, or also the potency of the potion as well?

Thanks

mix two thing together will have undesirabe effect. so it's kinda not advisable. try using an alembic to decrease the drain luck thing.

you want to make your potion more powerful. raise your intelligence. the higher the better. higher alchemy skill also help in making successful potion. you can also use it to recognize the ingredient properties.

Hmm well I was using a master's alembic; I have all the apparati at master's level, actually, and my potions are so powerful! Better than that rubbish you buy!

What sort of undesirable effect? Would they not cancel out then? Why not? And if one of my ingredients has a negative effect, do you still need two ingredients that have that negative effect, or does just one do it? Like in my strength potion, I had one ingredient that fortified and restored strength, one that restored strength plus some other positive thing, and one that fortified strength and drained luck. Now obviously those ingredients did other things that I don't know about (alchemy only 30), so did one of them drain luck but I just can't tell or do you only need one ingredient for a negative effect?

Any two ingredients with the same effect add that effect to the potion, whether it's positive or negative.

How else can I make potions but mix things together? It wouldn't let me just use two of the same ingredient

LOL. I have made potions already so obviously I have the apparati . I tried to use 2 units of saltrice to make a healing type potion and it said I needed at least 2 different ingredients to make a potion. Using one saltrice and a different ingredient (don't remember what) made a potion successfully.

"Apparatus" in Latin means tool. The plural, however, isn't "apparati", but "apparatu". I think the meaning in english is quite the same, although I don't know about the correct plural form.
