Can't place Marten's idol

I have just returned to Trynton & The Ratkin Tree after doing the castle and running around in the
various wildnerness'. I have dropped RFS-81 for Tantris.
I have left the blue feather with Fuzzfas.
I stopped at the house to place the idol on the pedestal in front of the locked door but
get a message that says something like "on 2nd thought you decide that you might need
this item"
It appears that I have missed a quest or step somewhere.
Does anyone know what I need to do first??

what exactly did you do prior to getting the idol?
did you talk to the shaman?

I am ashamed to say that I did not search past posts for the answer to my question about the
idol.

All I had to do was stand closer to the pedestal, as close as I could get.

i got to a spot where i could try placing something and remembered that you had to, more or less, be in range or you would get that message. then i came running back to let you know!

there's nothing worse than being stuck, and you did the best thing you coulda to search thru our back stuff. [img]graemlins/thumbsup.gif[/img] i think we niggled over every little thing when the game came out!
