When you start a game, one of your first goals is to free Minsc and Jaheira, right? Well, what happens to them if you don't? Do they escape on their own and kill you for not rescuing them? lol! Or are they gone for good?
I never tried this but it's been on my mind a few days now. I know that if you badmouth Jaheira, she vows to attack you when next you meet... does she turn against you later in the story? Spoil it for me!

I usually solo, and dont even pay attention to them, not even to initiate a dialogue. So i've let them rot in the dungeon for 2 times now, and nothing happens. They are indeed just gone ...

...no, at least Jaheira stand next to the harpers headquarter even if you leave her in the dungeon...
