my framerate is generally ok , but every 20 secs or so it falls to 5-10 or it completely freezes for a sec , im using a p4 1300 , 512 ram (RIMM) and a rather pathetic gf2 mx 32mb
so is there a cheaper solution to this then buying a new gf4 i done alot of tweaking already btw |

Mine doesn't do it quite a frequently as yours, but it still does it and I'm on a Geforce3 with an Athlon1400 and 512 ddr ram so I don't think your gforce2 is the problem

Are you inside or outside? That does make a difference. Also many of the "pauses" have to do with "thread loading" or some such thing...
However, from personal experience I don't think you're going to do well with a GeForce 2, pretty much no matter what you do. This game caused me to make the decision to upgrade from a GeForce 2 to a GeForce 4 TI 4600. Now, with 100% of all the bells and whistles on or set to MAX, I get about 17 to 20 fps outside at 1024*768. I get closer to 55-65 fps inside, depending on lighting and other factors. If I dumb it down to my GeForce 2 settings, I get about 75 fps outside and upto 240 fps inside. I understand that the GeForce 3 people get decent frame rates at moderate settings. But when I jump, it's with both feet, so I don't have any experience in the middle. Just at the end points. [ 06-19-2002, 09:01 PM: Message edited by: DraconisRex ]
