i want to do some color changing(make a white broad sword and a gold set of armour) but i cant afford programs like 3d studio max. how can i do this color changing?

i think if you understand the color codes in the ini file you could alter the color of items. cause every item,sky,earth,condition each have a color code. so if you knew what color code color you wanted was you could alter it in the ini file example.....

you need 3 things to recolor items
you need an image editing program (there are plenty of free ones out there but the good ones are not cheap) you need a hex editor (there are free ones of these too) you need a lot of time  check www.download.com for some free programs and check on the www.elderscrolls.com forum for some tutorials on reskinning/retexturing
