1) How does backstab work? Does it work with any weapon that says thrust? If so, then is it best to outfit a combat rouge with a good sword on primary and a good dagger on secondary?
2) How does the Dracon's acid breathe work? Is its damage computed according to he drac's level or its it dependant on his vit? Thnax in advance for answering. |

i don't know, backstab seems to make my rogue deal more damage than normal attack. better let him equip both with daggers so that you won't waste points. 2) How does the Dracon's acid breathe work? Is its damage computed according to he drac's level or its it dependant on his vit? IMO its sucks! only 3 - 5 damage. shesh! |

Try a few attacks with different weapons with your Rogue to see if he backstabs with them - if you have combat messages set to verbose, you'll see messages like "Myles backstabs Higardi Raider with Dagger.." and know the weapon is being used in that mode.
Backstab bonus damage will also improve as the rogue goes up in levels. I am fairly sure that swords can backstab, but haven't played in a while, just try it to see.

Also I do think the Dracon's breath weapon increases with level, and it costs alot of stamina to use it; if you have low stamina at the time you breathe it will do less damage. But IMHO it's really a waste to use it at all, doesn't improve any skills and sucks up alot of stamina. It's a last resort kind of thing.

Yeah, you can backstab with swords, and as Gimli said, the damage increases. Normal backstab is 2x damage, but if you pay attention to the verbose combat text you'll see 3x and even 4x damage against a foe without any handicaps. Using a halfway decent sword and attacking 2-4 times per round you can do huge amounts of damage. I used that Saint Bastard sword (10% KO I think) and my rouge would do 120+ damage twice per round when I got to AP, and I don't hardly train at all. The off hand dagger is a side note.
Rouges are awesome. |
