I made it there before in previous game, so I climbed the guard tower, clicked on the rope gizmo, it made a sound and moved something, and...nothing happened. What am I missing? I do miss the search option on this site.

. . . . . . . . . . . The rope is attached to the gate that bars the entrance to the stockade area that's nearest to the entrance to the Away Camp. You can also open it from the ground on the inside.
