Why do I say that? Unless it's just me Trynton hardware lags like hell (especially by the zoo and when a lot of guards are walking around). Unless i'm in combat mode that is. Trynton is the only place so far i see this happening. It finally resulted in me falling off the edge of one bridge cause after a fight i was walking foward and many guarsd around, much hardware lag, and i fell of the bridge... this was in the upper branches so, you can guess what happened next...
I knw it's not my ocmputer tho unless this requires a beast of a machine. I have a Geforce 3 ti 200, an underclocked Athlon XP 1700+ (clocked at 1050Mhz) 327MB RAM. Every game i play, i play at 1024x786 and this is the only game i don't get 60fps at.... am i the only one who hast his problem? |

My machine is ancient compared to yours and runs the game with no problems, it's a pentium 2 400mhz, geoforce 2, 384 megs of ram. Only thing I can think of is try updating your video drivers?

I've got a athlon 1.4, with 512 RAM, and a geforce 2 ultra with latest drivers (manufacturer, not reference) and although it runs smooth most of the time, sometimes it turns practically into a slideshow for a few seconds, then goes back to normal... usually with an energy blast or magic missiles spell... or sometimes just turning around. make sure all your motherboard drivers are updated as well, miniport drivers and Via chipset drivers. these can affect performance alot

I hate to go near zoo because of the lag. The only solution seems to be to stand still until all patrols are gone.

I've got a PIII 800Mhz, 128Ram, Integrated video leaching memeory from the ram and it runs fine in Trynton. The only place I've ever had it slow down is Rapax Castle when I am in Ferro's facing the door with the vulcan hammer behind it. It's crashed a couple of times there.

Re-building my other system so playing W8 on a p2 300 celeron. 512ram, 2x Voodoo 2 12meg 3dfx (SLI'd).
It runs smoothly through most of the game although it does go a little jerky in some places but the zoo's fine for me with this system. (NOTE: Did you cast "ALOT" of spells *like say practicing a magic realm* prior to going through thwe zoo? Wiz8 has a problem which is namely a memory leak and some people find that after several hours they need to restart as it starts t get jerky. This same problem occurs when you cast spells over & over again to practice a realm of magic.

I hear ya. Running a 1 gig w/256 mb ram and a Geforce 2 MX.
I had the same problem in Trynton. I was running 1024 x 768 x 32 bit color. I dropped it to the lowest resolution (640 x 480 x 16 I think) and it didn't help. Now for the really weird part. I set it to the *highest* resolution (1600 x 1200 x 32 I think). Guess what? It runs smooth as glass, even in Trynton. Go figure. The only problem I have now is that it takes *forever* to bring up the map. I'm talking probably a full minute. Helix |

I'm running on an A600 with 128 meg and a Voodoo3 card, 640x480 res. Sometimes there's a little slowness around the zoo, but nothing really bad.
I have noticed the slowness at Ferro's upper cabinet with the hammer, etc., and no idea why that should be so. Never any long delays in the bringing up the automap, though sometimes loading in the game (or a save game) can take awhile. After long sessions, the game does tend toward jerkiness, which is the signal for me to exit and then reload. |
