I've noticed a few people complaining about how they couldn't find another Gooda Vine in Trynton. I thought it was weird, since the first time through, I found them without any difficulty.

With my fifth party, (and third to get to Trynton) I rapidly clicked on the area of the vines three times, and ended up with one vine in hand. I dropped it in my inventory, and then clicked around some more. Ocassionally the cursor would change to the hand, but I could never pick up another vine, and there were no dropped objects on the radar. It seems that rapid clicking can cause the first vine to disappear -- maybe it gets burned up?

Anyway, I'd just saved, so it was no problem to reload and do it right, but had I not been through already, I might not have realized what had happened, and by the time I had figured it out....

its a bug that was fixed by the 3rd patch. so anyone who has the 3rd or 4th patch will not encounter that problem.

Ooops.

As I was emailing Sir-Tech, I realized that it might have been fixed in one of the later patches. Oh well. I don't remember reading anything about it being fixed, but then maybe I ignored it since my other two parties had no problems with it.

Hopefully this post will be useful to someone!

It is also, quite possibly, not a bug.

If you were rapidly clicking, you may have simply picked it up with one click and dropped it with the next. It could have happened so fast you didn't see it.

I've had this happen accidently with objects. Pick it up and rather than right click it into a character's inventory, I accidently do a second left click while the object is hanging there. It drops.

Look around in that area under the vines. You just might find it there.

That was my first thought. After carefully checking all my inventories, I walked around the area and looked for it, and then clicked around to see if I could pick it up somewhere anyway. Then I looked at my radar and noticed there were no white dots in the vicinity. It definitely seemed to be very gone.

Oh well, I just discovered I gave something to Antone that I was supposed to give to someone else later in the game. Maybe you're supposed to make a bunch of little mistakes on your first run through to encourage you to play it through at least one more time.

Though in this particular case, it appears that this item is necessary to get another item that appears to be necessary for finishing the game, although having not finished it yet, I can't be sure.

So it's been fixed in later patches? I have no saves previous to losing my second vine. Am I just screwed? Or does the patch put them back in so those of us who lost them can go get it again? Hopefully that's the fix. If not, anyone got info on hex editing in the second vine so I can move forward? I put the game down two months ago because of this bug and am only now thinking about picking it back up, but only if I can fix this bug. I'm too lazy to restart the game for something so silly.

sorry, but no. none of the patches fixes a mistake already made. you have to go back to an earlier save. or start all over.

sorry... i missed your last request.

go and get one of the last two on the list. they both allow for adding in items to your savegame.

There's an editor that will allow you to add items to a character's inventory. Can't remember which one it is, but I think I might have found it from http://www.spydah.com/wiz8/.

It was very helpful in one of my games when all the local merchants refused to special order some light crossbows for me, and I was forced to uh.. import some from the black market.

You should be able to get yourself some gooda vines this way if you're stuck for other options.

If I remember correctly, I found one wine on each "tree", have you checked them both?

Might seem obvious but often the worst problems have the simplest solutions.
