How to apply NAS-81?

I decided to give RFS-81 a try and picked him up by the mines. Didn't find a way to use the potion on him though. I dismissed RFS and gave the portion to him, but I still could not see any change in stats. How do you do it?

it doesn't affect his stats. it's more or less the oilcan from wizard of oz. it fixes him so he can join your party. just put it in his inventory and click on use item.

Well he joined my party before I gave it to him. And using the NAS potion does nothing. It's treated like a key or other special items, so you just drop out of the inventory screen with the potion on the cursor.
I suppose it's useless then?

i seem to recall he did use it,but that was a week or so ago. kinda fuzzy on the details.

dismiss him from party so he's standing in front of you, then pick up nas-81 so it replaces the cursor... then go to main screen, and click the potion on the droid as if to give it to him. that works

The Nas-81 doesnt seem to do much besides (get you some exp). The way you use it is to not have him in the group and when you get into the chat mode with him you use the "give" option to have him use the Nas-81 potion.

all those ways work for using the NAS81 on him, just as they work for anything you haveta "use" in the game.

you got him to join your group, which means your method of using the potion worked. [img]smile.gif[/img] and none of his stats was supposed to improve from the encounter.

he's supposed to mistake you for the DS and accompany you, if you so desire. if not, you got your reward already, so you can leave him there.
being that he's one of the best RPCs, tho, i dunno why anyone would not want to lug him around. he goes everywhere, and unlike everyone else, he stays put wherever you dismiss him.
