Nessie isn't that hard

I have killed her first try with two different parties with no char deaths. With both parties 1st round one Bishop cast element shield and the other sould shield. The rest of my party drank potions of superman except one who used a canned elemental. (The ele for the second party was usless, don't bother, it just defended the whole time.) Then with the first aprty I just rushed her while in the second I stood off and shot her full of arrows. One Bishop was always casting a lvl4-5 heal all and the other was renewing shields and handling other auxcillary spells like Bless. Nessie went down both times without getting a kill (although there were a couple of very close calls). The potion of superman was great and enhances ranged weapons nicely, my Ranger was doing 50+ points of damage per round with barbed arrows.

What level were your Party? level 20?

Try killing Nessie at level 12..

I did it about 12 times at about lvl 15 i think... but i can't remember for sure... maybe it was 20... cause she is 26, and i don't recall a HUGE difference in levels

Sure very easy. I killed her about 10 times yesterday evening (Got Excaliber in the end!!). She always died in the end of the 2nd round or halfway through the 3rd round,... The level of my party ?... eh 21 [img]graemlins/viking.gif[/img]

Went on to killing the buccaneer ghosts, killed them about 40-50 times (No big deal since 4 of my party members can cast a full power Banish [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) but no *light* *sword*, saw enough vaporizers to equip the hole Enterprise crew, but the *sword*, niet! I began to wonder if Excaliber and *Light* *Sword* are mutually exclusive. (?)

Sorry for the OT rant.

LVL 17-18. I postd it because I went in the first time thinking that this was gonna be the hardest battle in the game given the amount that it has been discussed. Since I won fairly easly, I figured I has just the really lucky rolls. When I killed her the second time, I began to wonder is she really was that difficult. I decided to post how I did it in case it helped anyone else out.

So fable, there was no question, if you rfeally want one I'll try to oblige...

I didn't find her too particularly difficult either. I was around 14th level when I ran into her. An armormelt from Madras, some protection spells, and a lot of bashing was all I needed to finish her off. I may have lucked out during the battle, however, because after a couple of rounds I was jockeying for position and hit one of those bubble streams and shot up to a pathway which temporarily ended combat and gave me some extra time to heal. I'm also guessing that I may have gotten kind of lucky, because her one attack per round (spell or otherwise) didn't impress me. Perhaps if she would have cast some massive group damage deal I would have a different opinion...

Okay, gotcha.

Problem is, Nessie *can* be a very big problem for young parties, or parties without the right combination of items or spells. Like you, I took it out with a superman potion on my (in this case) samurai--but that's not always the case.

Nessie is only really tough when you are around levels 10-12. After a couple of earthquakes usually half you party is dead and even with superman and a whole bunch of buffs you still have a hell of a time hitting her. When I first beat Nessie around those levels it took me about 30 rounds to finally finish her off. Very nerve wracking!
