This may seem like a silly question but...
Is there any reason not to give pretty much ANYONE the best they can wear? For example, is there any harm in giving my Samurai metal armor such as copper, bronze, etc? And does the Ninjas armor class improve over time, like other Wizardry games? |

The reason is one of weight. The better armor in almost all instances is heavier, so that better protection = loss of speed, particularly as you start picking up all sorts of goodies.

Throw in a bonus point or two to strength though, and your Samuari can hang, but I'd go for lighter gloves until you can get some steel ones. You'll also find merchants who sell good gear to replace the bronze and copper with.
I'll check one of my games and get back to you on your Ninja question but I think there are just bonuses to this area or that rather than a lowered AC...."this" or "that"...could I be more vague LOL? I'll get you some stats on a level 25 or 26 Ninja and you can see what I mean. ![]() P.S. I just noticed you are from South Bend! Cool! ![]() I used to live in Kokomo! I believe Ninjas armor class increase over time (though minimally) and also with points in Stealth.

Ninja (and monk I think) improve their armor
class with the stealth skill. For each 10 full point you have in stealth, you get one point in armor class. I don't know if they have other option(s) to improve their AC. |

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I knew weight was an issue, but in previous games, for example, the Ninjas armor class would be worsened by wearing armor due to his high base AC. **Edit - or LOW, as the case was in previous games** I just wanted to make sure that wasnt the case here. Moni - I've been through Kokomo many, many times. I went to Ball State and generally tried to avoid it due to the massive amount of traffic lights [ 01-10-2002: Message edited by: Kaddish ] |
