I just restarted for my first time, and know of a few NPCs I can get. I am just about to go from the Swamp to the Mines, and Sparkle won't come with me. Now, I actually LOVE this little hamster ranger - the voice is cute, and the crits help a lot But I want one that can be viable and stay with me for the long term. I'm thinking of dumping Vi for the Monk, and Sparkle seems nice, as well. Is Sparkle a keeper?

its all up to you. only you know who works well with your group and that you LIKE having around.

but, as far as i know, none of them stay with you the whole time, for many different reasons. but, you can always find another to replace the one that leaves. it's kind of a shock the first time it happens.

many people say why bother, after putting so much time and effort into an rpc, but i disagree. if an rpc was good enough to be a part of your team for a while, then decides to leave, because... oh, the natives in the place you are going to love to eat the rpc's race, well... i couldn't hold it against them.

besides, they tend to go back to where you found them. except for a certain monk rpc, who stays wherever you dismiss him.

and another besides, i think it's lots of fun to find new teammates, and try out other classes! in fact, i have been trying them all out, just to see what they are like.

If your heading for the Mt Gigas Water Caves forget it. In my game none of the NPC's wanted to go there (except for one) and I know why.

I can't wait to get to Nes and get my arse handed to me. She looks beautifully done. Something tells me I will be screen shot'ing my fight with her and using it for a wallpaper.
