Gamespot just updated their Top Games list, Wiz 8 has de-throned Dark Ages of Camelot for the top spot! Whoo-hoo! It's also made it into their ten best overall list.

http://gamespot.com/gamespot/filters...013054,00.html

Congrats to Linda Currie and the W8 team!

Well, that's great! This, combined with the games 9.1 rating (and great review) should give it some recognition. I really hope so because I haven't found any bugs in this game (except the ones you fight, that is) and to me that is a rarity these days. The game should get kudos just for that alone!

I've found a couple of VERY minor bugs. But in a complete rarity, the programmers are talking about them on the forum, and working on a patch asap. They released this game extremely polished, and even though Sir-Tech is no more, the design team obviously care a great deal about the game, and want to fix even minor probles as soon as they are reported.

BTW, did you know that they are even repairing saved games for people affected by a minor bug? I've NEVER heard of tech support doing that before! Wiz 8 is a top - to -bottom class act!

Sir tech has alway been a great company.

I played Wiz 1 on my apple 2 and the floopy stoped working. To any Wiz vets remember you couldn't save in the dungeon and you were only allowed one save per floopy. If your party died in the dungeon you had to invent a party to pick up the corpses before the dungeon animals ate up your recently dead adventures.

Any way I damaged my floopy and they replaced it well after the 90 days guarantee. They even told me about the bishop / ninja bug.

Excellent!
I am very happy for Sir-Tech, The Curries and everyone who has been able to get it and play, myself included!

I have been very pleased with the non-buggy game I have been playing...bugs make a game miserable to play, they really do!

I remember Wiz 7 being as fantastic as ride and have NEVER had bug problems with Sir-Tech games...I hope this does them justice for their creativity, their dedication to the games they create and the service they provide their players...a top notch team if ever there was one.

The site that Merkin has posted (Gamespot) also has about 8 or so movie file downloads. One of them is a movie of Gamespots review and the others are snips from the game. For those of us without the game yet these are nice appetizers.
Mind you though, if you dont have a broad bandwidth connection or similar they are about 70 Megs each

That's strange, most of the reviews for Dark Age of Camelot were better than Wizardry VIII's. Anyways, you can't really compare a single player game with a multi ones. They are just too different.

Im happy for Sir Tech, and I do love the game, but I have found alot of bugs. Mostly they are not true bugs, but annoying nontheless like when you are on a higher level than monsters like in the Rattkin Tree, and you enter battle only to have the monsters retreat forever ( they cannot get far enough away to auto end battle ) until you go down or go fight them.

I made a list as I found them, but cannot get to Sir-Techs forum... server errors/just not connecting. I sent an email to support and they told me it's my computer... hmmm never heard that one before

Overall the bugs arent too bad, not like Tribes 2 which I will not play ( after playing 1 for 3 years ), and since I play Wiz8 about 4 hours a day... thank god it didn't have anything to do with Sierra.
