questions (kinda long)

1) is there any kind of decent armor or protective clothing for monks? i keep finding tons of ninja gear, but not a single thing for my monk. i looked thru the item list on analander's site, but it's not broken down by class.

2) i feel like i might be missing stuff when i talk to npcs. i try to tackle anything to do with marten and that kinda stuff. but most of the time they say "well, if you have nothing else to say...." or "snark.sniff.ugh. oh i was sleeping... sorry..." LOL. my word list is looooooooong and most of the time, i bore them and myself silly trying to get info.
i read moni's statement about asking madras about "ingredients". so it made me realize i might need to change the way i talk to them. you oldtimers prolly do all this by instinct (like me with might&magic and my bf with ultima). but, if there are any tips you can give me, i would be grateful.

Its Fuzzfas, not Madras.
Also, you can ask Antone in Arnika about Custom orders.
I'll check what my Monk is wearing and get back to you on his stats.

Don't know if it will help but you can go to options and remove the check that makes shortened npc conversations.

I checked my Monk...looks like he is in suede and Buskins.
I did find a helm in the graveyard dungeon (I think) that he can wear that is a +6 but which weighs 10 lbs (he is strong enough to hold it up LOL) It is also a +20 to intelligence.
Other than that, he has a Ring of Protection (+1 to AC) and the Blarneystone Amulet (don't remember where I found that) which is a +1 to AC and a +20 to Communication skills, not to mention that it is loaded with 9 charges of a level 6 charm spell. [img]smile.gif[/img]

His base AC is 9 and his average is 14. That's the best I can do for him at this point in our game...hope it helped!

and that explains why madras wouldn't say anything when i raced back to him, hopping around excitedly, saying "ingredients" over and over! LOLOL!!

thanks for checking on what your monk was wearing! i think i would like to find that piece. which reminds me that i need to go and do the graveyard... mine is wearing all suede with sandals. her average AC is 8. so there's hope!!!

i double-checked on that, but i already unchecked it.

it must be the way i ask. i pick a word from their conversation and double click it, sometimes they respond, other times they don't.
i also type words into the parser hoping to get some info. it seems like only the BIG words work.... y'know, like "dark savant" or "marten's bluff" or "destinae dominus".... to a lesser degree, sometimes i can get them to talk about one another. like asking madras about fuzzfas or he'li about anna.

if i see a word highlighted in green on the list, i click it, but its usually something they were already talking about.

lol! sorry. i guess i just want to make sure i'm not missing any part of the story. i love to get as deep into the game as it will let me and always feel disappointed later on if i find i missed stuff!

See my above post about his gear and have yourself a great night.

As far as I can tell the best thing to do for your monk, is to jack up your Dex and speed to max right off. Worry about the other stats later...just an opinion on this.

I took another look today at my Monk's stats and discovered that his stealth gives him an AC bonus.

Getting booted repeatedly...may not be here long today.
