very often i have the problem that important people in the game appears busy...anyone had that problem?

It only happens from what I have noticed when they are done talking, or trying to go somewhere, or even trying to leave. If for example you were suppose to find something out for someone, you now told them, they have nothing more to say and are leaving then they would appear busy because they are leaving and most likely in 10 seconds or so would be gone from the area.

...I think the newest patch solved this problem... (are you running WinNT ?)

Its a bug. Installing the newest patch from http://www.interplay.com/bgate2/downloads.html will solve it.
