What I'd like to know is what elements you would really like to have, or really could do without, in Wizardry that you've seen in other rpg's.

Personally I feel it resembles Wizards and Warriors the most and therefore I am hoping it will have less bugs, a more user-friendly interface and that it is not rushed out the door as W&W was.
On the other hand I'd love to have the narrator that is present in W&W. He could really set the mood like a human Dungeon Master can in pen&paper rpg's.
Also the voice acting of the NPC's is superb! I hope Wizardry will have the same quality actors for that.

Oh yeah, and a demo I would DEFINATLY prefer before I go and buy the whole game But I think they're planning to release one eventually anyway.

i agree with u totally, w&w is a great game and the W8 trailer reminds me of the battles and traveling in W&W. i am newly turned on to this game by the guys and gals in the Wizards and warriors forum. i hope that this game follows the ad&d format and stuff.

hope it comes out soon!!!

I read what some of the beta testers said about the game and they said that the interface is MUCH better than W&W. And from the screenshots I saw, it's going to look better too . This is gonna be a good one.

I think, though I'm not sure, that the battle system will be more like the previous Wizardry games than W&W. Either way is good for me. I'd rather not have the same town screen as W&W, I'd prefer something more real, where you can snoop around.

The Wizardry series in general has been great for providing interactive towns. The last one (Wizardry 7) had fully explorable cities as well as wilderness areas, dungeons, and the like. DW Bradley, the W&W creator, was the designer for the last 3 wizardries, so you see a LOT of elements in W&W from them...unfortunately, not all of the smoothness of the interface carried over into W&W.

Since Bradley's not on the current team, I can only imagine that the team has designed the game based on his storyline.

Just as a curiosity, who here has played Wizardry 6 and 7, or at least one of the above? (raise hands)

Hi, I played Wiz 1,2,3,4 and 7. Never finished 7. I tried installing it on a new computer I have to try to go back and play it but I never could get it to run. I guess if I want to finish it Ill have to dig out the old 486.

Never played any Wizardy before; just heard alot of good things about it.
Wizards and Warriors I did play but never finished it.
I played Ultima 4 on a commodore 64, however, does that count for something too?
Or does that only show my age?

I have played Wizardry five, six, and seven. I beat six, never beat five, or seven. I think Im close on seven. I dont know what it was, but I really liked Bane of the Cosmic Forge. I think the ninjas in bane were just to awesome, it seemed like they would hide in the shadows for ever. I remember battles in Bane where my whole party would be dead, and just my two ninjas would be alive doing suprise attacks until they won. hehe. What ever, yes I played other wizardry games )

I've played Wizardry 1,2 & 3. Beat 1 and 2. Never beat three. Something about it I didn't like. I've been looking all over for the Wizardry Archives but I can't find it. I want to make a good party in 7 that I can carry over to 8 but it looks as if I'll have to start from scratch for that one. Oh well. I guess it'll give me a chance to try out all the new things that have been added, like the Gadgeteer.
