What are people's favorite critters to come across in a dungeon? I'm not talking about forests or caves, no ma'am. I want to know what people WANT to see in a dungeon crawl of epic proportions. (Sure there will be a forest and some caves, even a city or two and perhaps some catacombs...) Give me some feedback, please, and I can pretty much guarantee that a part of this dungeon will resemble, if not be, your favorite dungeon. -manikus |

Ok, not really...
![]() but what I think would be cool is a creature that shapeshift's, so when you approach it, it just looks like a wall, and when you get too close, it attack's.... Or something like that ![]() |

There are several AD&D creatures like this. The most famous is the 'mimic' which in the old monster manual had a picture of a treasure chest that had just grown a mouth and claws. ![]() -manikus |

This is a tough one, there are just so many great monsters to choose from. However, one of my personal favourites has always been the Dracolich. Not sure why, I just think it is an awesome monster and one that any self respecting adventuring party would fear to meet in a dark dungeon.

One I always liked out of Ravenloft - I think it was called a 'living wall' - made up of those it pulls into itself.
It's just plain creepy. Other than that, a very powerful lich with some death knights. If you insist on living creatures, give me a multi-headed hydra or a beholder any day |

These are all good ideas and most of my favorites as well. I do wonder how I might fit the ninjas into my dungeon, though. ![]() -manikus |
