I know that it is possible to redefine the size of the wall sets, borders etc., but is it possible to customise other screen areas?

For example, could someone add extra graphical interface features or move the display sections around so that a game looked and played more like Eye of the Beholder?

i don't know about adding extra graphical interface features, but it is certainly possible to move and resize all of the display sections. click on 'mode' and chose 'run uaf config'. you can also edit the config.txt file.

would it be real hard to run a battle event with the first person view of eotb? I mean, with the logic event (being its been a while, my memory of the exacts of the event are a bit fuzzy, or maybe its the St. pats day Guiness I drank...).
I picture the old SEGA game Phantasy Star (or the sequels) where it was a turn based combat with a few choices as to commands, but no battle map. EotB if I recall (again, time and/or guiness) had a similar idea, but It was based in real time (if you weren't paying attention or left to get some cheesy-poofs, the enemy would sit there happily chopping you up.) I like the FRUA style of combat maps, with the strategies that come with such a style; however, assuming I get a fully operational computer again, I'd be willing to play with the idea of running logic events to do such a battle so as to make it available as an option to the DC population.
as for the working computer issue, I am using my brothers computer to stay in contact with the forum.
