I know that there has been talk of this B 4, but until I did an upgrade to Win 98 it really didn't affect me much, so (with Hindsight being 20/20...)

I am having problems with the display of the UAFeditor (and the player, too) becuse the coordinates of the pics in the window are off. The background diplayed is shown with a large boarder of black around the bottom and right sides (the background pic is not big enough to fit the space where it is supposed to.) I thought about re-installing DC but haven't yet. I put DirectX 7 onthe machine, is that the currently used one???

Also for CocoaSpud, I asked B 4 about a multi-password event, and you said:
"you can use GPDL to make the NPC converse with the player Ultima4-style. That is, certain keywords typed by the player trigger certain responses by the NPC."

Is there a help file for the GPDL??

the easy stuff first- the latest version of dc is .890

i was the one with the problem similar to yours...turns out that it was just wrong resolution art for the resolution i was working in. and i couldn't get the editor to operate at anything other than 640x480.
the .890 version fixed all of my problems and it will yours as well

hope this helps- (i don't know anything about gpdl script)

Well, now I've Dl'ed the most recent version and installed it, and it STILL is doing the background is too small thing! I know that its the most recent version of DC, but do I have the correct version of DirectX (version 7)???

I have a picture of the window if necessary to see, but I'm sure its just gotta be some setting I don't have right.

hmm, i don't know what to say.

even after i dl'd the most recent, i had to go in and fiddle with the editors setting, mind you this was very easy to do.
i guess the other thing that i would say to look is to make sure that you have the right sized wall art for the resolution you are trying to work in.

maybe richard can help you out on this one...

Now maybe I found out what the problem is!! According to what the editor says when I "Configure design screen size" is that the config.txt for the higher resolutions do not exist (higher res being 800 and 1024). Is this why I can't load a pic correctly??

try this-
open up dungeon craft, and click on mode. in the menu that drops down, chose run uaf config. chose the settings you want, save and exit program. now, close dungeon craft and when you next re-open it, the new resolution should have taken effect.

Well, now 2 update, I've gotten the most recent DL of DC and the most recent directX and can't get the program to show graphics properly. So, do I have to DL the other resolutions separately? It would really stink to have to downgrade back to Win95 to be able to play this game (I have been considering it...for this awesome game)

Hopefully when The Superspud sees this he'll know what to do.
