Anyone ever just take whatever the first dice roll gives you, and make the best of it? How did it turn out? I'm thinking about trying that.

I've never done it before, and I don't plan on doing it. Sometimes I'll only roll for 5 minutes, others for 30 minutes, maybe even an hour. I'm sure that some hard-core role-players do that, however.

I tried that once...
My roll is as follows for my Elven bladesinger (fighter/mage) STR:9 DEX:19 Con:11 INT:8 WIS:18 CHA:14 A really bad roll for a fighte rmage. Got killed by shank. Not good. |

I will try this after my Mage party is over.
1 question can I take from one to put into another or just keep the #'s the way they are? |

Kyrvias: The engine won't allow a mage to have a starting intelligence under 9.

I'm doing it now, although I allowed myself 2 rolls. (DOing the whole thing no-reload as well, which I haven't tried before.)
It forces the NPCs to carry a lot of the burden, but really it's not that different.

Please post your char type and stats here. It would be interesting to see what char you picked and which if any NPC's.

I'm doing an elven F/M. I would have done a gnome, but I figured that an Illusionist would automatically get stats that were too good. I got strength 17 on my second roll, quite amazing. Intelligence is 12, constitution is 10 or something, dexterity 15. Of course the fact that I'm playing no reload means I will avoid risking my PC in melee unless things are looking very dire, so the strength isn't that big of a help.
I chose F/M because I think a mage is the one character who's effectiveness is basically unrelated to stats. Because I'm playing no-reload I felt that I needed a more robust mage, which is why I added the fighter part - more hps, and can carry a shield and helmet. The PC is also more effective character early on (darts with 2 prof points are lethal!). Current party is Kivan, Ajantis, Imoen, Branwen and Xan. I plan to replace Xan with Safana when I dual Imoen, switch out Branwen for Yeslick when I reach him, and switch Safana for Coran at some point. Once I get to chanpter 6 I plan on using Kivan as my tank (strength 19!). I haven't had anyone die yet (chapter 3), and haven't had any really tough battles, but I'm only just headed to the bandit camp. Toughest enemies so far have been random hobgoblin elites that I wasn't expecting - poison is a huge problem when you can't reload. [ 11-08-2005, 08:57 AM: Message edited by: ister ]
