What actually is Xzar's quest? I thought it as just to go to Nashkel, so I get to Nashkel, and nothing happens, so I dump him from my party after i have talked to the mayor, and Xzar just goes on about having a charming little ashtray made out of my skull...
What is his quest? And does he only have the one, and will he still hang around afterwards (should I ned him again)?
Cheers.

I'm not completely sure as I don't take him that far, but IIRC, it is just co complete the Nashkel Mines.

Question Mark

Yes, that's it. Pretty anti-climactic, don't you think?

Very much so Azred,

It should have been seperate from the main story line, such as killing a rogue Zhentarim mage that has fled the organisation, and he hiding in the Wood Of Sharp Teeth...

Or something..

I don't think that's right. He get's upset (and I think he leaves eventually) if you don't go to Nashkell, but once you've talked to Beren he doesn't care any more. So I think his quest is NOT to do the Nashkell mines, but rather to go to Nashkell and talk to the mayor. Even more boring.

this is true.

Both for Xzar and Jaheira the quest is to talk to mayor only.

I've never kept them that long, but something similar happens with Khalid and Jaheira, so it's quite possible.

There's a unique dialogue that takes place in the city of Baldur's Gate. The dialogue is with a group of non-joinable NPCs, however.
