Kevin Smith (a.k.a Silent Bob) gives his review on Revenge of the Sith.

WARNING the review give a HEAP of spoilers so only read it if you want to know.

Some Notable Quotes from it are:

"I saw a gorgeous digitally projected version of the flick, and lemme tell ya': this is a beautiful looking film. The opening space battle sequence is the best in any of the six "Star Wars" movies."

"a thousand times darker" than The Empire Strikes Back and describes scenes that include Jedi knights being slaughtered and a character being left to burn alive near a lava river.

"The only comic moments in the flick are given to R2D2 and, while good, they're all pretty few and far between,"

"The order of the day is dark, dark, dark."

"The last fifteen minutes dovetail nicely into Episode 4 (or just plain "Star Wars" for you non-geeks), and the movie is full of link-up moments as well."

I admittedly have NOT read his review (and I post on Kevin Smith's site). There is a non-spoiler thread on his forum as well.

Anyway, there are some people there who say that he liked Episodes I and II also, although never gave the gushing review he has for Episode III.

Yes Kevin Smith is a pretty big fan of Star Wars, and an apologist for Lucas (there's a reason Smith is one of the names floating aorund the live action Star Wars TV series), But even so the fact that I've heard Jar Jar is not present warms my heart and gladdens my spleen.

Thanks for the review. I'm looking very forward to the flick -- of course, I heartfully defend Episodes 1 and 2 as well.

I also like Episodes I & II and never saw the problem with them that other people have.

If only he was there to be the jedi left by a lava pit to burn....

Sounds a lot darker than the first two... I'm hoping it's good!

bah, you know that's Vader/anakin it's common knowledge that he was dunked in lava and the result was a life-support dependant bad-ass who decided to master the long range choke-hold.

The problem most people had with the movie was that their expectations were never met. That's not a universal problem, but a personal one, IMHO.

I also liked Episode I and II, although there were some scenes in both movies which were just horrible. Examples are the scene [in the Phantom Menace] where Anakin Skywalker gets in the Naboo fighter a 'kicks ass' in the following space fight. Certainly the dialogue ("Now this is podracing!"), and undoubtedly the entire scene could've been better.
Same goes for Episode II. I've never been a big fan of Yoda's transformation and every time I think about it I still can't get it right in my head. How can an old, crippled alien turn into a whirling superfighter? I can imagine his knowledge and wisdom of the force surpass Count Dooku's, but the size difference alone would allow Dooku to crush Yoda with his index finger.

I didn't have a problem with much of anything in Episode two except Christian Hadensons acting, I swear it was like he had just received his lines as was reading them off with no knowledge of how they fit into the scene, and the "love" part with Senator Amidala, there was absolutely no chemistry and it suffered from the same sense of not knowing what he was doing.
