I just saw this in a shop and having seen David Lynch's Dune hesitated buying it. A question to those who have seen it: is it any good?

I own it on DVD. Worth every penny. It's Absolutely NOTHING like David Lynch's film. I think that the sci fi series is much 'truer' to the spirit of Herbert's written work. The actor that plays Leto II, James McAvoy , is particularly great. He's just how I imagined the God Emperor to be If you have the spare cash then by all means snap the DVD set up. It's great!

Okay, hold up.

I know that a long time ago, I watched the 1984 version of Dune with Sting as a character in it...but only yesterday did I find out that somebody redid the movie in 2000 and lasted 270+ hours, and so I sat and watched the whole thing beginning last night and ended today...

and now you are telling me that there is a sequal to what took me two days to watch?

Where?????????????

They made a mini-series out of the original Dune. I think this is the sequel

Yeah, I have both miniseries' on DVD, but 270+ hours? 2 days to watch? eh?

Now, I'm assuming Larry meant 270+ minutes, and that he is referring to the sci fi channel miniseries. And if so, then yes, Children of Dune is the sequel to that.

Well Larry, if you liked the Dune miniseries (did you?), you'll love Children of Dune. It's just.... better, overall

Thanks for the recommendations. Unfortunately I don't have any spare cash this time, but if I do I'll try to find the Dune miniseries too.
